Re: Auctions in general

[ QUOTE ]
I think we're losing sight of a simple fact. When a buyer and a seller agree on a price, how is that a false value or market? The fact that a broker, the auction house, is the middle man...

Re: Russo and Steele auction

[ QUOTE ]
A lot of people keep calling it shill bidding, but if the auction house divulges that it will place a bid on behalf of the seller then I don't think that is considered a shill bid. If a...

Re: Auctions in general

Well Charley for some odd reason I like you. But look, a lot of people don't have the extra 10% funds one way or the other. With that in mind what would you suggest to prevent the false values and...

Re: Auctions in general

We need a better way to put large groups of buyers and sellers together than through the auction houses. Whether this could be done as a car only swap meet style sale or just what I'm not sure. As a...

Do they shill bid on the lesser value cars? Say the 30-50K ones? The ones the average Joe would be interested in.

Of course they do. Here is how it...

Re: Russo and Steele auction

All the auction houses do more harm than good for our sport. How many times have you heard the phase "Well at B-J this or that sold for this much, but in the real world your car really isn't worth...

Re: Russo and Steele auction

All of the auction houses are nothing more than smoke and mirrors or better known as a horse and pony show as is the circus.

Re: Jay Leno's GM EcoJet!

The Honeywell (Garrett)jet engines will burn any kind of fuel you want to put in it. Jet A, Kerosene(k-1),#1 Diesel which are all the same fuel, just different names, is the desired fuel to use...

Re: My 2 cents on the new Camaro...gotta say it

The demise of the 4th gen Camaro IMO, was a threefold problem.
The price of the Camaro was way more than the Mustang to begin with.
Next, the insurance rates where about double for the Camaro
But...

Re: My 2 cents on the new Camaro...gotta say it

I know where you are coming from Charley, as I wanted a new 69 Camaro also. I'm the lucky owner of all four of the past generations of F-Bodies and still own a few 69s. But as I sit here and look at...

I will try these new brass filters. In all my hotrods I have taken out the old style brass. Have only had so-so results with the paper replacements. Usually install a good inline and they run like...

Re: Holley Carb Question

This is an original car, but hiding the filter is not that big of deal to me. I guess I could use a Q-Jet type filter and fab a new solid line from the filter to carb block, then plug the return line...

Re: 69 396 ss camaro

The car came with the original 325hp, 396 engine in a crate. A roller 427 is sitting in the car. It's a gorgeous black/black 4 speed car. I got it home on the 15th and drove it over the weekend. I...
