Hurst shifter + GM/Muncie backup switch.....

Has anyone figured out how to make a GM Muncie backup switch work with an aftermarket Hurst shifter?

If not, I have. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

(yes, I tested it and it works https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif )

If anyone's interested I'll post up some pics later.

If not, nevermind. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

Eric, can you do it with a 70 Reverse lock out set up.? Incidentally, I picked up a pile of about a dozen Holleys, probably junk but I will send you the #'s anyway. Thx SULLY

Eric,are you still seeking a Z bar?

Sully;

I guess it depends on the design of the reverse lever. I have a Hurst Competition Plus unit, and I had to drill a .125" hole in the reverse arm for the switch rod to connect--not easy to do considering the shift arm is hardened.

Let me know on the Holley #'s.

Rick;

I wound up heavily modifying the aftermarket repop z-bar that came with my clutch linkage kit. Works like a charm now.

Eric, Hurst makes a small thin rectagular tab, looks like a short shift lever with a .125 hole at one end, and a 3/8" hole at the other end... You put that on the reverse shift shaft on top of the reverse shift lever and thats where the reverse light linkage wire hooks up... Hope this helps... Crash

Why doesn't that surprise me? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Par for the course at this point.

Ah well...at least it works.
