I'll never forget when I bought a 900 mile Hemi Cuda from Steven Juliano. I asked why the heck he would sell such a car....well I've got a poster and hemi cut away engine, they're rare, the cars are everywhere.

Some guys are just plain ahead of the curve. One day we might look back and look at these prices as cheap......my crystal ball broke a long time ago.

Fred,

I agree. They made LOTS of the cars...and there are VERY few signs left out there.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif

hi les hi fred.....it's beyond me why porcelain signs bring so much money. porcelain doesnt die....you could still go to the bottom of the ocean and take a leak in the titanics toliets. plus, nothing against dave signs, but the vast majority of porcelain signs in guys collections are restored, they all have new neon and guts, most were 2 sided that were cut in half so the sign dealer could sell both halves seperately, and they have NOTHING to do with the performance car era. unless of course you think the 1930s and 40s was a performance era?? i left dozens upon dozens of them along the trail back in the dealershiping days....and if i had to do it all over again i'd still leave them along the road. try finding 60s plastic backlit signs that were designed to last a year and were subjected to a hot light bulb turning them toasty crisp. not to mention that once they were assembled they couldnt stand on their own. finding them was near impossible, talking them off the wall was exhausting, getting them home in one piece took a miracle, then attempt to blow the dust off. relamp, hold your breathe, say a rosary, and rehang. i could name dozens of plastic signs that only one example survived in the world. porcelain? you could put wheels on it and tow it home. i just dont get it?? maybe that annoying neon buzz is hypnotic???....in the meantime i'll go put on my wetsuit and go take that squirt on those pretty titanic thrones....i bet they still flush.
