Glue on NOS wheel well mouldings

Guys,
Purchased some NOS wheel well mouldings for my 69 Chevelle a few years back, still in the wrappers. Now we want to install them on my car but there's some kind of adhesive on there from the packaging that won't come off.
Tried brake cleaner, paint thinner, etc.. Anybody have any suggestions???
thanks in advance,

Jim

I always have this same issue and use 0000 steel wool with great results.

a heads up. if its a hard type of glue, "soak a baby diaper",... "colors can bleed off rags", and just hold it on the problem for 10/15 seconds sometimes longer for stubborn stuff and let it heat up the goo you want off...it can be a little hot around decals, a litte practice with the stuff and you will always have a can around a grab it all the time. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

See if you can find some Citrol. I had a nos nova hood lip molding that had been in the package since I was 18. The clear part of the wraper had seemed to etch itself into the molding. I tried thinner, goofoff, even the rubbing compound. I pretty much figured that I'd send it out to my polish guy to see what he could do with it. He got out a spray can of Citrol, sprayed it on, and the stuff came right off. It's environmentally friendly, and smells like oranges.Works great. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
I had tried the adhesive remover also.

That's good stuff.
I use it religiously after I return from flogging my car in the Illinois rural areas, during the hot summer months.
Corn fed Dead bug guts that adhere to the windshield, hood, grill and bumper wipe right off with Citrol.
