October Built 1969 Camaro

The front springs of this 1969 Camaro seem to have been in place a long time. It is an early October of 1969 (late) built car.

What Color tags were used on 1970 Novas and 1970 Camaros?

My June built 70 Nova has a blue or yellow tag if I am not mistaken.

Stefano... that is the same spring and tag that was in the 69 RS/Z survivor!

James,
That is interesting. I don't ever remember seeing a yellow tag on a Z28, they were blue?

Looks like the same part number from what is legible.

Does anyone have that spring application??

What is the build date of that Z28?

Thanks for posting.

Re: October Built 1969 Camaro

I'm showing front coil spring #3955725 was an HB suffix code recommended on the 1969 Camaro:
*Model 12367 with Heavy Duty springs and base engine when front weight was between 359-440lbs.
*Model 12437 with Heavy Duty springs AND base engine AND JL-8 brakes when front weight was between 345-426lbs.
*Model 12437 with Heavy Duty springs and either L-35,L-35,L-78 engine when front weight was between 345-426lbs.
*Model 12437 with Standard springs and either L-34,L-35,L-78 engine when front weight was between 345-426lbs.
*Model 12467 with Standard springs and either L-34,L-35,L-78 engine when front weight was between 263-344lbs.
*Model 12437 with Heavy Duty springs and either L-48,L-65 engine when front weight was between 345-426lbs.
*Model 12437 with Heavy Duty springs with Z/28 when front weight was between 263-344lbs.
*Model 12467 with Heavy Duty springs with Base engine, but NOT JL-8 when front weight was between 263-344lbs.

Great info.

The Camaro does have a big block in it. [image]http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...TransAm104.jpg[/image]

The Z is an 04C.
The options may push it to the 263# threshold for the springs. Endura, RS, Cowlhood, Console, instrumentation... etc.

I will also have to check the vintage certification sheets for the car. They never mentioned the springs when the car was being certified.

James,
What was the broadcast code for that tag on the Z?
