Original l78 enjine

The original owner of my 68 Camaro took delivery of the car
L78 in the first or second week of feb/68. then drove the car down to motion for a 427 425 hp short block transplant. Then he took the l78 short block home and had it in his garage up until he had a fire in his garage (hit by Lightning), He called Detroit Muscle about 12 years ago
and sold all the motors he had lots of great motors including my l78 short block
I contacted them and told them the story and got nowhere.
If I post the vin number on this site to look for it I am sure I might find 2 off them. What do you guys recommend
to try to find this short block.Should I post the vin ##

I would maybe only post the last 3 digits or so of your vin. I wouldn't be real comfortable having my whole vin "floating around in cyberspace" via this internet...

You might end up with a match, might find someone who has the block.. Just my suggestion...

Send the vin to Kurt with the Camaro Research Group ([email protected]) they have quite a database as well as an orphans section. I sent the vin off of a 396 block I had and re-united it with the original camaro. It was a 68 as well.
