15 x 7 ralley wheel backset
Looking to verify the backset, rear distance from center mounting surface to outer rim edge plane for 1969 camaro
15 x 7 ralley wheels. I have some that measure 4 2/16 inches,or 10.5 cm, and some that measure 4 5/16 inches. Would anyone know what the factory installed wheel distance should be? |
Re: 15 x 7 ralley wheel backset
Deur,
According the book "Chevrolet by the Numbers" by Alan Colvin, if you have a wheel stamped with a "AD" or "YH" next to the valve stem hole, either one could have been used on 1969 Camaro Z-28's, depending on the car build date. Quoting from Colvin's book; [ QUOTE ] The AD wheel was used early in the model year. It did not have provisions for the four wheel disk brake option. According to Kelsey-Hayes documentation, the YH wheel was not released until 2/20/69. This has not been verified from original cars. [/ QUOTE ] Both wheel codes have the same 0.30" offset. Since I don't have either of those wheels to measure, I thought this might help you out. |
