1 Attachment(s)
I bought this a few years ago...and I had a book that had pics of it and described what it is...but I cant find it...
Apparently it is a GM Pontiac Xram intake that was made for the 1970 Trans Am cars, for the tall deck 303?? motors...supposedly they only made a handful... I also got alum. spacers about 1 inch thich...I believe so one could make this work with the standard block...but dont quote me... Can anyone help??? Im sure there must be a Pontiac site?? Thanks!!! |

From "Pontiac Musclecar Performance 1955-1979" That intake was made for Trans-Am racing, 303 RAIV, but Trams-Am sanctioning body decreed single four barrel carburation for 1970. Buck Baker did well with that manifold in NASCAR's Baby Grand circuit. Very cool piece for a Pontiac collector.

Re: RARE PONTIAC CROSSRAM...W/PICS....ANY INFO.???
the only real rub with the intake is it takes a special tall dist to clear the intake. There is a pic also in Petes book that shows the dist.It looks very close to a chevy tach drive dist.It was used with the RA IV and RA V X rams. The intake was made for the short deck 303 SCCA blocks.Im told there was only about 6 of each of the RA IVs and RA V 2-4 X ram intakes made.Very nice piece,I sold one a few years ago that went to canada. Not sure how the IV intake ran but do know the V intake did not run well.Tom
