Unstamped 660 Muncie Case
 

Just bought an unstamped 660 Muncie case...has anyone come across one of these? Would it have been a service replacement part? Appreciate the help.

My understanding is that when you busted an original case
you got one with no numbers under warranty.The trany guys can
offer more info.

I think you could have bought one over the parts counter that way too.

Agree Rick. Purchased a few over the years and they would come in with no stamp.

Unstamped main cases were availiable over the counter for sale to the public, or for use as warranty replacement part...
Most O.T.C. cases have a small cc with a single number after(cc9) and a 5 digit serial number in the same area...
Early 660 O.T.C. cases (1968) some time won't have the cc or the serial number at all...
You don't see unstamped 660 cases often but their out there... I have several unstamped and 25 or more 660 and 661 O.T.C. cases with the cc and the serial number...

Thanks Crash...there are no stampings whatsoever in the common pad area in front of the midplate. I would guess it's an early casting because the numbers and features are very crisp. Looks like it was cast when the patterns were new.
