COPO Labeled Parts -Anyone seen?

OK.. Wondering if anyone has seen any parts (suspension, gauges, engine...) with a tag listing the GM Part Number and the the leters COPO? From any vehicle: delivery van to police car to a factory "back door" car. Anything like this found on a Z-16, COPO 'Vair, Camaro or Chevelle?

Thanks, Paul

Paul Very little parts have copo on them. I have the orginal build sheet on my car, from norwood. If it wasn;t for the 9561BA at the bottom left of the sheet. You wouldn;t know nothing! There is not one block on the sheet with any info. BBBenny

The only real clue would be the codes on the build sheet, specifically, boxes 5,6,14,37, and 39. Down on the bottom left hand side of the build sheet is the COPO code. If the car is original it will have the specific engine code as will the rearend. The fenders and rear filler panel won't be pierced either. Everything else was pretty well standard parts used on other Chevelles. Chevy kept it all pretty simple. I never found a build sheet in either of our Baltimore cars. Thanks for the reply guys... but I'm looking at individual parts themselves that are COPO specific with their own ID tag that actually has COPO printed on it with a GM part number. -such as springs, sway bars, gauges...

Hey bbbenny, what parts have you seen with COPO tags on them?

Paul

99% of the parts on COPO cars weren't "special" parts - they were already released for use on other regular production models or RPO applications, and the COPO just authorized their use for the specific COPO application. For instance, lots of COPO suspension/brake parts were already released for heavy-duty Police/Taxi applications, etc.
