I am wondering if this TI dist was also used on the rare ZR2 ls6 1971 corvette part number 1111074
dated aug 12/71 .
In the pic its the one in the middle.

Re: TI distributor

Does the 1115005 module apply to any of these? It has the three pronged female connector and looks like the one on the upper left of the picture.

Re: TI distributor

1115005 was good for pre January 68 cars. After that GM went too 1115343 for Chevrolets. The internals were the same but the 1115343 has an extended wiring harness attached to the cast pot metal housing. Read the story here.

Re: TI distributor

------PJ,,,I dont know about the part numbers but a 1971 Corvette distributer weather TI or not would have had a mechanical tach drive like the distributor on the left.......Bill S

Re: TI distributor

PJ,
The 1111074 is the TI distributor for 1966 L72 full size and the 1966 396/375 Chevelle's. The one you have is a service replacement. The original factory issued ones were cast iron.

Re: TI distributor

Thanks for your input
I read all the info on this topic
and now I am more confused than before to re install the TI distributor for my 68 Camaro.
I have the dist, the coil, and the amp. I also have the original wiring harness It would look BOSS if I reunite it with the car after 40 years.
BUT am I going to have a trouble free system or will it be
a temperamental nightmare
I now have the original distributor with the Petronix electronic ignition. It works great.

Re: TI distributor

I think some places offer a modern conversion done to the amp because that was the weak spot. I think there was a place called TI Specialty but their website is down now so I don't know if he is still in business.
