Best "numbers" books?
Looking for the best "numbers" books to verify authenticity for most of the popular musclecars: Camaros, Chevelles, Mopars, Pontiacs, Buicks etc. Can anyone steer me to some excellent publications? I want to invest in a quality musclecar in the next few months and want to be able to determine if a car has it's original engine, trans, rear, carb etc etc.
Thanks! Todd |
Re: Best "numbers" books?
You may need a book for each make. There are two many variables to condence all the necessary info into one book. Even the books that are out there have numerous mistakes.
Start with the major bookstores, and online sales, use them as a guide only, not Gospel. When you have narrowed your search, consult here. The participants on this bulliten board are the friendliest and most knowledgeable car guys on the planet. Straight answere, honest opinions and always willing to assist!!! |
Re: Best "numbers" books?
I think the best "numbers book" is right here on this site. Ask and you shall receive.
Although, it's not all collated in one reference at Barnes&Nobles Verne |
Re: Best "numbers" books?
Thanks guys. I'll certainly be consulting on here if I find a car. Some of you guys on here should write a pocket guide for Camaros, Novas and Chevelles. It'd be handy to have when you are looking at the car. You'd make a mint!

Re: Best "numbers" books?
Web sites in addition to the GTO site would include:
http://www.camaros.org/index.shtml There are sites for each individual Mopar body grouping and many books as well. |
