What is this 70 GTO RA IV really worth

Almost to 8k on this pile of sh!t.
I am a die hard old school GTO fan, but that car is wasted. I see that as someone doing a body swap.

A guy I work with has one. He has had the car since high school and it was not until recently that he discovered that it was an actual ram air IV car. The original motor went "bye bye" a long time ago before he got the car. Surprisingly about 2 years ago he received a telephone call from a guy in the Akron, Ohio area who informed him that he had the numbers block for the car. The guy I work with bought the bare block for around 10 grand I think and is now doing an entire frame off resto on the car. The car is in much better shape than this one on e-bay. Should be very nice when it's done... He was telling me that the car should be worth upwards to 100k when finished???? Don't know not really a Pontiac guy..

A RA4 car is probably worth at least 100K all day long so this car can have a bunch thrown at it. If it was COPO Camaro would you think it was beyond repair ? Pontiac guys would rather have the RA4 car than a COPO so it all depends what you are into.

I know of a RAIV car, sitting, 52K original, nice survivor, has one low comp cylinder. 4 speed car. Family owned since new. What would it be worth roughly? They want 35k, but might not be serious unless cash is shown....

Charlie, You cant get anywhere near 100k for a non judge Ram IV car. 70-75 Tops if perfect. That guy eric Barely got 100 k for his Ram iv judge advertised here and it took a long time...Too long in my opinion. I have no idea why someone would want to restore that car.

It is not a Judge, would it still be stealing that car?

I agree with Don, a non-Judge RAIV car is a 75k car tops if it is "nice", 100k or so if it is a killer nut and bolt Tiemann-type all #'s match resto car in a good color. Remember the green/ saddle 4.33 gear M21 car that was for sale forever and finally sold in the 60's not long ago? #'s match motor but not trans as I recall.

Non-Judge is just a tough sell unless it is a really special car.

The eBay car looks like a good way to lose some money. To paraphrase the old joke "How do you make a small fortune restoring a POS GTO? Start with a large fortune!" That eBay car is a $100k resto waiting to happen, and it will never be a #'s or original sheetmetal car...and that is what people have finally gotten smart enough to want!
