69 Camaro door weatherstrips
2 weeks ago i went and looked at a pair of NOS door weather strips still in their boxes. The guy wanted 1750.00 for the pair! Are they really worth that much? This is really buggin as I really need a set for my pace car as the soft seal one are too big. Thanks

Re: 69 Camaro door weatherstrips
I'm sure they're worth that amount to the right person with the right car.
Metro is much better than SoffSeal, and there is also repo latex weatherstripping out there that is closer to the originals. |
Re: 69 Camaro door weatherstrips
I still need a driver's side for my car but don't want to bite the bullet and pay the big bucks until I absolutely have to(when the car is done)...unfortunately,I've been saying that since they were 600$ a pair....I thought that was outrageous at the time.....duh!!
Anyway..not to hijack your post, but I'm still looking for a driver's side...Buy outright or I have extra pass. side to trade..+ cash?? Can you ask him if he has an extra single?? Thanks |
Re: 69 Camaro door weatherstrips
What's NOS GM door rubber for a 68-72 Nova worth?
|
Re: 69 Camaro door weatherstrips
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but does anyone happen to have a used set of GM door and roof weatherstrip for a 69 Camaro hardtop? I'm looking to replace the weatherstrip on a decent original driver. Please pm or email me at [email protected] if you have some you'd sell.
Thanks, Helmut |
Re: 69 Camaro door weatherstrips
Frankly, I question how good 38 year old rubber can actually be? In the original wrapper or not.
Correct me if I'am wrong please. |
Re: 69 Camaro door weatherstrips
All depends on how they were stored. I have NOS ones for my 70 chevelle that were purchased in the late 70's and they are just as nice as the day I bought them. No cracks dryness etc. They were in a bed room closet. The only NOS parts I can say I have had any trouble with is the plastic items that are not black and any part that originally had some foam on it.They both seem to break down no matter how you store them.
Just my experiences |

You can fight for days with some of the replacements where the Gm ones fit first time. |
