Engine Block Repair

I am looking for a machine shop that can repair a vintage L79 block that has some outside water jacket cracks.Since this block is the original & not decked I am trying to find a shop in the northern california area as I do want this valuable part of my car to be to far from me.Any info would be great.
Thanks Mike

I spoke with the folks at Full Torque today & will bring them my block for repair.I should have it back in 30 days or so & will share the information of the repair with everyone. Thanks for the tip,the process sounds way better than welding.

Neat process. You know what they say... " a stitch in time saves nine" or in your case saves an L7 9 !

I'm here to tell you that this process DOES work ! I have a customer motor that I recently completed that had a similar problem. 413 Cross Ram Mopar. Numbers matching for a 1 of 75 '61 300G Convertible. Crack on the outside of the block. We "stiched" it and not only is there no more problem, but you'd be hard pressed to see the work. My first coat of paint on the engine, and you couldn't see it anymore. GOOD LUCK !!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Neat car Casey. Quite rare. Now that is a CROSS RAM! About 30" runners if I recall. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

One of the machine shop customers I called on for many years before I retired, showed me how they did the lock-n-stich repair on the inside of diesel farm tractor cylinder heads. They claimed it was the only to go. Said they had been doing it that way for three generations and it beat welding all to h.... Gotta love something that works. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif
