1800 mile Hemi 71 Challenger for sale
I saw this classified on another site but I am wondering what a car of this caliber is worth even with Hemi values dropping? $1 million, maybe 2 mill??? I have no idea but it floors me to see this stuff popping up like this.
Here's his post: This car is the pinnacle of all muscle cars available for sale right now. See below and you'll know why. * 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi * Dark gold metallic with black leather interior * Original owner car * Original Window Sticker * Original MSO paperwork * Original buildsheet * 1860 original, unmolested, and verified miles * Hemi 4 speed * Super Track Pak option * 1 of 75 71 Hemi Challengers ever made; 1 of 58 4-speeds * Original EVERYTHING, including the battery (THE battery), tires, spark plug wires, etc. Only the resonators and mufflers have ever been replaced. * 100% original paint--never touched from new. * Black leather interior with console * Rallye dash * Completely gone over by Galen Govier--One of his comments on the appraisal sheet was "This car is irreplaceable!" He graded it a "#1+" car in every category. You simply cannot do better than that. It's not possible. This car has NEVER BEFORE BEEN OFFERED FOR SALE. You will never get another chance at such a rare Hemi E-body with this owner history, documentation, low mileage, and originality. Never. Once it's in someone's collection, it will likely not be heard from again for a very long time. Had this been for sale a year or two ago, it would've easily sold for over $1 million, given all of it's positives. Forget about GNX's....this is the king of the mountain as investment muscle cars go. If you are a serious player for this car, please contact me. Pictures and price available to those with demonstrated ability to purchase. Finders fee gladly paid if you bring me a buyer. Price: Negotiable. Obviously, this car will not be for everyone, but for the discriminating and knowledgeable investor looking for a long-term home run, you will not be able to do better. __________________ Check out the fun toys at www.kcclassiccars.com. Didn't a member here sell 53 mile Hemi Cuda for somewhere around $650,000 a couple years ago. I would think this Challenger would sell for $400-500,000

Way cool car to be sure (if it checks out). Big pluses are the rare '71 Hemi Challenger, 4 speed, Super Track Pack, documentation, survivor condition. Detractors, color (not desirable) Challengers (for some reason) do not bring the money of 'cudas, am curious about the "Graded it a #1+" particularly on a survivor car. To my knowledge Galen's scale is 1 to 6 (with no "+" or "-")for each area of the car and then he averages the score for an overall score. My ruff unexpert estimate is a market value of $250 - 300K. Hey Rich P, what do you think?

Re: 1800 mile Hemi 71 Challenger for sale
Sounds like a neat car but that color is a real deal killer. I believe the name of the actual color is Tawny Gold Metallic and is not so affectionately known as "Baby S**t Brown" in the Mopar circles. I would say $300,000 on a good day but it would be hard to pull that kind of dollar at the moment. I would think if the owner was delusional enough to send it to BJ, it would sell for about $180,000.

I agree ,I hate the color.

Re: 1800 mile Hemi 71 Challenger for sale
like everyone has stated the color will kill the car, but to the right guy its still a 71 stick with super trac pack papers and ultra low miles, I dont know the car but if it all checked out to what was advertised Id give 225k with out giving it a second thought and then just sit and wait. I would have to agree with Steve on a good day 300k to 350k at the present moment, 1 1/2 years ago the owner could have pulled another 100k to 150k off it. JMO
The car never would have done over a million like stated though.. |

I am in no way affiliated with this vehicle.
Now, as far as the price, well here is the sellers theory about pricing: "Because of what this car is, and because of the fluctuations in the market, it doesn't behoove us to lock ourselves into a price right now." https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif |
