Re: 67-69 Camaro NOS sill plates and Cragar Centers
Is there a difference between 67-69 Camaro sill plates other than riveting on the plates?

Re: 67-69 Camaro NOS sill plates and Cragar Centers
I was under the impression that they were all the same...67 to 69...but the originals that came on the cars had the small rivets and the service parts did not...I saw a set of riveted Nos sills sell for over 1000 dollars within the last year...these seem to not have the rivets...if my eyes arent decieving me...this is all just what I always thought...the facts may be somewhat different as far as what came on what car...I'm no expert though...

Re: 67-69 Camaro NOS sill plates and Cragar Centers
The sill plates are the same for 67-69 and the originals would have the rivets.
The ones sold in the auction for $394.50 are the GM replacement plates and did not have the rivets. These sill plates, part number 7644760 are still available from GM at $50.00 a piece and also do not have rivets. Unless there is a huge difference between them I don't get it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Rick H. |
Re: 67-69 Camaro NOS sill plates and Cragar Center
I'll have to check my originals and my recent GM ones against the pics, but I think my new GM ones have a more distinct ribbing pattern.
I remember the NOS with rivets ones. I always thought the older NOS had rivets, and the newer GM did not. If that's true, I wonder where the NOS w/rivets set came from? maybe extremely early NOS (like maybe while the first gen was still in production) had rivets. I wonder what the date is on the ones in this auction w/o rivets. |
