radiator cap restoration

Does anyone know who restores radiator caps? John Pirkle no longer does them.I called Jerry McNeish and was told that they don't do them? Any suggestions?

How bad is it?
I use a dremel tool with the flex shaft attachment and a polishing paste w/needle tip that gets in all the tight spots and really wakes the cap up.
You can smooth down deep marks and pitting too,but only within a few mils.
I make my own rubber gaskets and can replace them if the seating area is not too badly gone.

If the cap is in good shape just have it replated.

Try Pete Lindahl at [email protected] or (505) 663-0995.

Pete has a lot of neat old parts and he cuts and stamps keys as well. I have used him on many occasions for Corvette parts and his work and reputation are impeccable. I was told, today, that he is doing rad cap restoration. His knowledge of rad caps is extensive and he recently had an article concerning original caps published in the NCRS Restorer magazine.

Mark
