Pinon Angle Question
Quick question:
When setting the pinion angle on a big block camaro with manual trans- you want to allow for the pinion to rise under load to be parallel with the trans output, correct? I read that 3.5-4.5 degress negative angle relative to the driveshaft works. Is this true? How was it set up at the factory? Thanks |
Re: Pinon Angle Question
Actually, I meant 3.5-4.5 degrees negative (downward) angle relative to the trans output. Right?

Re: Pinon Angle Question
I recently played with pinion agle in an effort to eliminate a vibration in my deuce. (the '32 not the '70) From what I know, the pinion should aim upwards at an equal amount opposite to the downward angle of the transmission tailshaft. In other words, if your pinion aims 3 degrees up, the trans tailshaft should aim 3 degrees down... as long as the degrees of the 2 angles are equal, it should work. (Worked for me at least!)
