What to look for when buying
I am hoping to be a first time buyer of a 67, 8 or 9 camaro. I do not have a lot of money but want to get the most for my money. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: What to look for when buying
First Generation Camaros can be a few thousand bucks for a project, to well over $1,000,000.00.
1)Determine what type of Car you seek and how you will be using it. (Race, Show, Cruise night Driver, Modified, Stock, Pro-Touring...ect.) 2)Establish a budget and buy the best car you can for the money. Start there. |
Re: What to look for when buying
Take a Very good (sharp) picture of the trim tag, and post it here or at Camaros.net for scrutiny, many fake cars out there. 67 & 68 Camaros are the best value for the money, even junk 69's are bringing too much money, although, they are the favorite body style with most people. Whatever year you decide on, inspect the car in person, do not rely on pictures alone, especially on E-Scam. Good luck in your hunt! C

Re: What to look for when buying
Don't be discouraged when you see what you get for the money. 1st gen Camaros are expensive and a decent one needing some detail/finishing work will set you back 10 grand easy. I would budget 20k for a solid (not perfect) 67 or 68 and 25k for a solid but not perfect '69. Those prices are for solid non-letter (rs, ss, etc.) cars.
