The stripes for a Chevelle and Camaro were the same on the sides... the wide rear portion on an original set of stripes was split, allowing adjustment to make the wide portion as long or as short as needed. Generally speaking, the Chevelles usually had a longer section of wide stripe than Camaros due to the longer 1/4 panel, but really it was just up to the installer as to exactly where the stripe "got wide". I've seen original cars with the wide portion beginning right after the door edge, and some that don't get wide for a foot or more behind the door edge...every car was a little different, and the stripes often varied greatly from side to side on the same car. There's really no one "correct" way to install them. The more important thing is that the stripe kit itself is made correctly... many stripe kits I see now are was too "fat" in general, with incorrect Yenko SC cutouts, and no split in the stripe, etc. There are some really bad looking stripe kits out there right now.
