I was at the show all afternoon Sat. and took a bunch of photos, as promised. I made a big mistake though. I was afraid I might fill up the camera memory, so I set the resolution a notch lower than normal, and the result is that the cars are not as sharp as they should. Allen George owns this original Altered from back in the day with a Buick straight 8. The chassis from this car was actually stolen a couple years ago, then couple buddies noticed it at a local swap meet, and they got it back!

Roger Sortino from Washington brought his TWO Z-11s for display. First, the Terry Prince car. Terry gave Roger every piece of information he had on this car including the dealer order, all NHRA correspondence, trophies, even his Nationsl Winner's jacket!

That reunion is very special. It's almost surrealistic. For anyone who has old time drag racing in their blood it is truly a trip back in time. So many "real" old cars and the original personalities as well, up close and personal. They're all willing to talk to anyone and tell stories of racing days. And I hate to say it, but those from that era are not getting any younger. Every year we keep losing more of them. It's uncomfortable to talk about, but I think most people realize that these opportunities to enjoy time with and learn from these old heroes are disappearing. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif
