Turbo Blue Racing Fuels
 
Has anyone tried any of their products. I was up at the Camaro Nationals and someone told me to try this stuff. Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

I buy mine at a Sunoco station in Chambersburg,PA + all the local dirt track racers use it....the only other choice I have in the area is Cam 2.

That's all that's been in the Deuce since I bought it. Its 115 octane, and currently 5.30 per gallon. There's a local place that sells it but won't let you pump it directly in the car, gotta haul it in cans 5 gallons at a time. Its good stuff. There's no amount of compression it won't prevent from detonating. Actually, 5 gallons mixed with a tank of premium is more than enough, but I figure if a little fixes it, a whole tankful will fix the hell out of it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

It's all I've ever ran in my Copo 427 Camaro and it loves it. It's $5.00 gal. here and I'm like Joe...if a little's good a whole lot is better. Sweet smell too.

I've burned a ton of it over the years. I like the stuff, but we don't have it in these parts at present. The only thing I wasn't happy about was the high exhaust temperatures. Noticably higher than I ever had with CAM2 or some of the others I've tried. Maybe I should have played with the jetting? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Interesting. That's all I've used in my Pure Stock W31 and the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers just blew out the baffles at the Martin race. 6 seasons, but only raced 2 or 3 times a year. 150 miles max in all that time. Wonder if those high exhaust temps caused this. Original factory mufflers were still fine when we took them off in 1999 (64k miles).

I really like the Turbo Blue smell. Especially the first time out in the Spring (same as summer in Michigan).

Like regular gasolines from around the country, each racing fuel has it's own blend...octane rating, specific gravity, oxygenation, etc...I can even think of a few racing series that have their own blend. So, yeah, a jetting change is often needed following a change in fuel...

A few years back, (when I actually drove the car) we drove to SuperChevy/Indy. I started out with Turbo Blue in the car. When we stopped for fill-ups along the way we usually had to pop the trunk for the girls to get 'something' out of their bags. The trunk was always hotter when there was TB in the tank. Even began to notice the temp difference in the Exhaust tips. I guess the difference in the SG of the fuels could account for the amount of fuel pushed through the system. I don't recall tracking the MPG with the different fuels though. It was so bad it really didn't make much difference! 10 - 12 at best, and it usually hung around the 8 - 9 range. Running 4.10 gears, a TH and an 11:1 454 at 70 - 75 MPH wasn't the best choice for a road tripper. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
