70 442 w-30
I'm trying to buy a 1970 442 w-30, does anyone know if the vin HAS to have an 'M' to be w-30?

Re: done
It should be noted that all W-30s were built in Lansing, but not all Lansing cars were W-30s. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

Re: done
M in the Vin
Red inner fenders (being repoped) 'F' heads (have to check the casting number as some have gotten creative and ground off the bottom leg of an 'E' head. If it is an Turbo 400-- look at the trans tag and it will be an 'OW' Look for the Aluminium intake (being repoped) 'W' and 'Z' exhaust manifolds (being repoped) OAI hood and air cleaner assemblies (you guessed it being repoped) Manual brakes with 4-speeds and non-air cars (if my memory serves me correct on the A/T no a/c). This should get you started. PM me if you need some more info. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif |
Re: done
To add (and don't quote me on any of these, but I think I'm correct on 'em):
-AC *is* available only with auto trannys. -Manual brakes only, as was pointed out, on stick cars, but that could mean manual disc or drum. -Just cuz a part is missing doesn't mean it's not a W-30, and the inverse as well. |
