extra thick BBC valve cover gaskets
 

Anyone have a source for these??...need something about 1/2 to 5/8 thick..cork...trying to clear some poly locks on a stock appearing motor. Thanks

Someone makes an aluminum spacer that will do what you need. If you don't want to use a spacer, you could use 2 cork gaskets.

Just finished biding a stock L78 and used roller rockers-hence the need for a little extra clearance.
There are aluminum-core gaskets made, as well as just a thicker gasket (laminated with a metal core as well)
I ended up needing the thinner of the two and I got the learance I needed

ALbert, I think McCord makes a double thick gasket that has a metal shim bonded between the 2 halves. If you can not find a set e-mail me. I found a really trick set of valve covers that are a little higher than stock on one side with the dimple for the power booster and the welded on spark plug tabs. These look stock at first inspection but clear roller rockers. I found them brand new on e-bay last year. Let me know if you want more information.

Al, I got mine from jegs. 1/2 cork look like orginals except thicker. I got them on the car, now.BBBenny

Go to NAPA. Victor Renz part # VS38420H.
Made in USA and just a little more money than the thin ones.

Mr. Gasket makes them, can be purchased thru Summit. I used them on my racecar.

Fel pro makes a cork laminate with a steel shim, .3125" thick. This will give you about .125 extra room. pricey at about $45.
