Holy Norwood, what's holding this thing together?
Aaah Ohio... Where cars go to die. This one appears to no longer be structurally sound:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-...QQcmdZViewItem Reminds me of the cars I passed on, especially the black '69 RS/Z that was rusted badly for $2K. Those were the days. |

I guess that pile of parts on the ground are ones that just fell off as he was taking pictures for the auction. I wonder how long the trail goes for? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Re: Holy Norwood, what's holding this thing together?
Realistically speaking, I cannot find one usable panel on that car.
I don't even know if it's worth anything as a parts car-- Evenything that can be donated as a usable part is available in the aftermarket. It's a V-8 title and X-44 dash tag, and not much else. |
Re: Holy Norwood, what's holding this thing together?
...and how about the pic of the rear bumper-- With body still attached....! Oh my!

Re: Holy Norwood, what's holding this thing together?
I actually had first shot at this car several months ago.....From the second owner.Looks like this guy bought it to flip.....er try to. It is TOTAL junk...I could of had it for $400 and ran away...The pictures do this one justice...trust me!
Oh yeah, the only useable parts were the swing pedals and the exhaust manifolds....Dash was covered at one time in mohair...Firebird seats...were shot...3" drop when you opened the pass door...even the seat belts were junk...I looked long and hard to justify buying the heap....just to cut it up and part it out... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif Steve |
Re: Holy Norwood, what's holding this thing together?
Yes, I hear you.
Seems like if you factor in your time, and the very likely possibility of absolute calamity trying to get that thing home (i.e.: You'd better have an enclosed trailer, or live right next door), it wouldn't be worth it if it were FREE. |
Re: Holy Norwood, what's holding this thing together?
It WAS in the same town I live in.....Only it lived in the woods behind this guy's house.....not a freakin barn to be found....LOL.. He kept the car for sentimental reasons, him and his wifes first car...wedding car at that...Hope the couple lasts longer than this wreck.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
