Street Exhaust

I am planning on building a new exhaust (from the headers back) for my 68 Camaro with the 427. Any suggestions as to mufflers? Or does anyone have any experience with the kit exhausts? Or should I go for a complete custom exhaust? The price for the custom work sounds like 1200-1300 from these guys: http://kookscustomheaders.com/

I'm putting these http://www.spiralturbobaffles.com/ on our car. We went out to the guys house so we could listen to them in person, incredible sound, very little resonance. The sound clips don't do them justice.

you might go with a Pypes Kit, a X-pipe kit with assualter muffs and out the back in the stock spots,

I tried the assulater muffs this summer, nice rumble but No DRONE in the car like the other brand.

I used the TorqTech system with Dymomax ultra flows. Fit was very good. Mufflers are pretty quiet until 3500 rpms.

Thanks for the replies. Does TorqTech and Pypes mount up to the stock locations? I really don't want to put any new holes in the car to hang the exhaust.

Check out Spintechs out of So-Cal. I used Hooker SuperComps with 2 1/2" Stainless Oval tubing and Spintechs. Sounds killer!

Listen to Budnate! Go with the Pypes setup...they make a couple different mandrel systems that use the stock mounts, and uses a sweet transverse muffler, and you can add an x-pipe...will handle BIG power and still sounds KILLER.

Gotta go with the Pypes setup, it will look stock, install at the stock points, and pretty much sound stock until you stand on it - what's not to like https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: Street Exhaust

I emailed the Pypes representative and he told me that the exhaust will not hang from the stock mounting locations. Did you guys make your own hangers? And, are you using the transverse muffler like the factory system? Thanks for the help.
