Black 69 Camaro with red stripe
Did they ever make a black 1969 Camaro with a red SS stripe?
I know there has been a few red cars with red stripes does that mean a red stripe could have been ordered on any color car? |

Re: Black 69 Camaro with red stripe
Look here for an explanation of which cars got red stripes.
http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors Footnote 6 (for black cars) 1969: Coupes with Black interior and D90, DX1, or D96 stripe (not Z28) and without vinyl top received a Red stripe. |

This is why I asked check it out a original paint L78 car. According to CRG if it had a black vinyl it shouldnt have a red stripe.

Re: Black 69 Camaro with red stripe
That table is from GM documentation. With black, the stripe color change with vinyl top doesn't make much sense, IMO.

Re: Black 69 Camaro with red stripe
Yes they did, I have one, My car has no documentation to prove the red stripe. I do have a original Poleroid shot of the First owner and the car form 1970. I will see if I can scan it later.

Re: Black 69 Camaro with red stripe
Here is a scan of a old Poleroid shot of the above mentioned car in the last post, not a very good photo. If you strain you can make out the 1970 Ohio plates. Gray and Red, for Ohio State in that year.
