'66 Chevelle Decode
Stopped to put air in my tires this morning on my way to work. The station sent me around back to the pay-for-air station https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif and there sat a '66 Chevelle https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif No engine or trans, missing the front clip 'cept for the passenger side fender. Didn't really think twice about it till I saw the fender emblem; "396 Turbo Jet". So, I wrote down the TT info, maybe somebody can decode?
04A 758 66 13817 BAL 4030 763 K2 I checked for the VIN, but it was not visible through the windshield - is it on the door pillar? PS: Had a 12 bolt rear from what I could see, but the gas tank had fallen to the ground and blocked my view!! |
Re: '66 Chevelle Decode
The '13817' on the TT indicates that it is an SS396. Yes, the VIN tag would (or should https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif) be in the drivers side door front pillar. I'll leave the '763 K2' to someone who has reference material handy.

Re: '66 Chevelle Decode
Thanks, It has remnants of a VT as well. The car is in poor condition, dark blue, black hat.

Re: '66 Chevelle Decode
I'm no expert on these but besides the obvious 138 and build etc. from what I spot, the K is Artesian Turquoise, the 2 should be a top reference but ???...probably black, the 763 is Black Buckets? .
Even for the sake of the 12 bolt only, did you quiz anyone on 'that old POS car out back' being available? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif ~ Pete |
Re: '66 Chevelle Decode
yea...Marlin you getting lazy in your old age??...them thar r good parts to spread around if the rigs r done for from the weather...I could go for the 12 bolt for my 66 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: '66 Chevelle Decode
And the '69 Copo Chevelle w/ the 'race bait' 307 call outs...may as well put the grab on that POS too? .
