Re: Help with Turbo 400 ID
CD prefix is a 327/275HP Passenger cars application. The TH400 wasn't available on it until after January 1967.The first time a small block was offered w/a TH400 trans.
Whats the assembly date in the upper right corner of that tag...503? I didn't think they started stamping CON VIN's on them till 1968 model year? |
Re: Help with Turbo 400 ID
Mahalo Rick and yes the date is 503. This was in my 68 when I got it, which was org a 4 speed car and im thinking about dropping a 4 speed back into it. Never really looked at the Tranny tag until I was looking at old pics yesterday.

Re: Help with Turbo 400 ID
I also have a "CD" coded TH400 with the same date code I believe. I yanked it from a '68 Impala with a 327 - I kept the 327 too, they make a nice bench in the shop https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
