Honestly, how many SHP intakes were hand stamped?
I was surfing through "the bay" today and came across a '67
L-88 intake that had the last four part numbers ground off and then other numbers hand stamped in their place. I had always thought that these were rare items and represented only the first few intakes of a particular design. As of late, I have seen way too many of these hand stamped intakes on eBay. What gives? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Are these all real, or just unscrupulous sellers trying to cash in on the whole L-88/ZL-1/yada-yada-yada thing? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif Steve |
Re: Honestly, how many SHP intakes were hand stamped?
I sold one on Ebay last week. It was a 3933198 intake that was original. The 98 was hand stamped. The intake looked like it had been at the bottom of a lake when I got it and was certainly original.

A friend of mine had one just like Jasonīs. It was definitely original.

Does anyone have any sense of how long into the production
year ( or cycle ) these restampings occurred? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif Steve |
