Re: 5spd 70 Z

originally was a automatic (CTC suffix code). little things wrong that would just take time and money to fix. exhaust, headers, hei distrib, valve covers, engine detailing and plating (boost, hood hinges etc). Might be original minus the tranny. looks like a floor mounted gas pedal and he swears up and down its an original Z. Nice Bumpettes too.

Played the videos; the picture quality sucks but the car sounds real nice.

Little things wrong?? I see a lot of things wrong. The motor looks like it has been slapped together. It has 1972 3391492 heads, a 1971 water pump, trim tag held on by screws (not in 1970). The valve covers are wrong. Plus a lot of other "little" stuff. This stuff is expensive to replace.

Headers with smog system????

It might, repeat might be a real Z but there is a lot of expensive parts to replace.

Re: 5spd 70 Z

I saw this Z on Craigslist.. do not know if he states the same info on the Ebay auction but he claims to have the original T400 and a build sheet. I like the car but personally would have never done a gear box swap on the car. Maybe 30 years ago but not now.

I just went to the ad on craigslist and the posted link will no longer open..he had a picture of the TH400 on there and the tag with the julian date code .
If you live in California in the 70's you knew what the headers with the AIR fittings were all about..lots of companies made them .
