Re: 70 W30 or W31 4 speed
There is a guy with a yellow W30 that may be still for sale in Warrensburg MO. My buddy and I looked it over at a Mecum auction last december in KC. The car was all together, and according to my buddy Rusty (the Olds Freak) it had all the right parts. It was in #2-3 condition. I saw it advertised a couple of times before that, and since. I seem to remember the guy mentioning trades the last time I saw an ad. Look up Happy Days Dream Cars? Maybe he's getting tired of setting on it.

Ive seen most of everything advertised online including Happy cars 70 w-30 with the non matching block and crooked stripes for $59k...dont think he would come down to my budget of $40k though! Thanks

Re: 70 W30 or W31 4 speed
You're making me wish for my old 442's....I had '69 and a '70, both post cars as that's what I've always preferred....still feel the same! . I paid $200 for the '69 about 1979 and drove it home....the orig. M40 trans gave up the next day and I swapped it w/ a trans I pulled from a Poncho GP....then the orig. 400 blew a week later, swapped it w/ a '69 Toronado 455.....worked great for a couple years then turned it into a stock car....what's left of it is still at the back of buddy's farm! .
I bought the '70 442 post in Toronto in the early 80's for $800 I think it was? . I drove it home w/ a leaking gas tank, no hood and zero brakes right down the major Hi-way 401! . Seems foolish now but it all made perfect sense then....especially at 100 mph!? . It was an original W25 car but hood missing, nice rear 442 bumper and still had the original engine and M40....not easy to check these engines....the serial number is under the PS pump brkt I think and hard to get your eyeballs in there to look! . It was a cool car....I stuck a '69 hood on it as the flat ones are the same minus center extension. . I sure wish I had it now but it got rusty and I traded it a few years later for a job-lot of about 50 Hooker headers for snowmobiles....yep, Hooker made factory tuned pipes for sleds....still have a few left. . Sure loved those cars....good luck in your search! ~ Pete |
Re: 70 W30 or W31 4 speed
i am starting a 70 w-30 , 4 speed, light blue, white interior in the next couple of weeks, just got my 70 GSX , saturn yellow stage one 4 speed delivered and had it picked up. Mark Reeves of Then & Now restorations is doing the car. The Buick is gorgeous, drives and rides like a modern day cadillac, but tons of power.
