69 Yenko Camaro Stripe Trimming
When applying the quarter panel stripes, what is the best way to trim the SYC stripe to the shape of the upper quarter panel where it meets the spoiler. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Not exactly sure what you are describing, but the original cars have the two pieces overlapping in order for the stripe to hit the spoiler correctly.

Re: 69 Yenko Camaro Stripe Trimming
If you are talking about the top of the quarter where it meets the spoiler, I've seen originals slightly extend over the crease, and then adhered to the top of the quarter and also cut of perpendicular to the stripe, just below the crease.
I looked at originals and pristine restorations, at the reunions, and there does not seem to be one way. I decided to follow the contour of the quarter about 1/16" below the crease. Note that the pinstripe line from the spoiler piece is not at the same angle as the pinstripe from the stripe on the quarter. The spoiler stripe is at a more vertical angle. |
