Ford deserves credit.
An observation: I am sure you guys have seen by now the new Mustang commercial. It starts with a close up of the eye of a horse (Mustang that is) and transitions to a ghost silhouette of a '68 fast back which transitions to a parked red new 'stang which then comes to life with an edgy rumble (sounds good to me). Unfortunately, the parking place is wet, but that red 'stang starts gittin' it pretty good (they probably thot it would be too irresponsible to show smoke plumes billowing from the rear wheel wells https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif ). To me this was a good attempt at harkening back to the days of yesteryear when muscle cars were everywhere you turned and commercials reflected their bravado. Few adverstisements rarely hit their mark with me. I am surprised the commercial hasn't been yanked yet due to some nay-sayers touting wrecklessness or some such nonsense https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif . This one caught my attention and got my motor going. Good on Ford! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Ford deserves credit.
For MANY years Ford has been a leader in automotive commercials and if not being a dyed in the wool Chevrolet fan I might have been persuaded to go get one. Chevrolet has had some of the laimest commercials I have seen for years. Some are almost, no make that, are, the most embarrassing ones I have seen. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif I have not seen the one you describe but it sounds very neat.

Another nay-sayer is Ford's legal department, which is undoubtedly nervous about showing a Mustang smoking its tires on TV. |
Re: Ford deserves credit.
The only thing I noticed was how much wheelhop that Mustang was enduring... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Re: Ford deserves credit.
Ford has been doing a great job with advertising for a while now.
Think back a couple of years ago when they did the Steve McQueen fade-in to the present. That was awesome. It was this attention to the muscle car roots that nudged me to go out and buy a Cobra to play with. OK, don't beat me up. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif I still have my L/78 Camaro. Steve |
Re: Ford deserves credit.
remember the recent cavalier commercial with the woo hoo woo hoo hoo music in the background, they apparently didnt buy the rights the music because vonage used the same song for their commercial with the slogan as sometimes people do stupid things, the cavalier commercial quickly went away.
