70 GTO VOE Mufflers

1 Attachment(s)
Wanted to let you all know we shipped two more VOE GTO mufflers a couple of weeks ago and they are running on a true 1970 VOE GTO. The sound levels are right on; around 10 to 11 dBA difference open versus closed across the rpm spectrum. Here is what the new owner had to say about them.

"Now to the good part; when the mufflers are open they sound great. I run them this way most of the time. The sound is a deep, mellow, with a slight crackle when it idles. It sounds really throaty and not really that loud (note, this is on a GTO convertible so wind noise may add to the lack of loudness, Tom). It kind of reminds me of the glass pack mufflers we used to hang right off the headers, but without the raspy sound. They sound so good I don't even turn on the radio. When they are closed, they are whisper quiet."

For those unfamiliar, here is what they look like, or at least the st. st. version we are currently producing. Please see attachment.

Very nice. Too bad more of the GTO's didn't get these.

YDR, it is easy and takes $34 worth of parts. You wil have to make your own vacuum can out of a $1 can of juice. We have these on a 69 Cobra Jet Torino and a set will be on a truck, a 64 GTO, my 69 Cuda and an 88 Chevy truck.
Really, it is easy to do.
