1971 442 W30 search help
Hi all (Hey my first new post)
Anyone know the current owner of a 1971 red, white stripe, black int. 4sp. W30 442 Vin# 344871M138367? I sold this car in 1993. I know I shipped it to Annandale, Va., but that is all I can remember. It had very low miles, but needed a complete restoration at the time. Long story short – I ran into the original owner at a New Year’s Eve party. He told me that he just found an old file that had the original dealer paper work in it for the car. I’m sure everyone knows that Olds did/does not have a PHS service so documentation is everything to these cars. He is more then willing to send it to whoever owns the car now. Anyone know this car?? I’d hate to see this kind of stuff get thrown out. It could be way to important to someone. I posted this on 442.com and waiting on approval to post on realoldspower.com. Anybody know of any other good Olds sites? Thanks - Brian |

Brian
I have maintained a database on the 71 W-30- cars for almost 20 years. Most of the info i have is for the convertibles. I will forward your info to a friend in Virginia who has been connected to Oldsmobiles for a long time and may have a lead on the car. You have covered the main Olds sites. Paul Martin |

Thanks Paul:
Great cars by the way!! If your keeping a database, might as well record that Vin. Hopefully it is still around and not getting ready for the “Backyard finds today” thread. It was basically bought to race. W30, 4sp, W37 clutch, AM radio and not much else. Had a 12 bolt rear in it when I sold it. Original block and rear end were left somewhere down the ¼ mile in the 70’s. If you hear anything let me know, Brian |

Total production of the convert with W-30 option is 110. This consisted of 78 automatics and 32 4 speeds. Who owns the car you speak of. I would like to include the info in my database if not already there. PM me.
