Warning Notice

Gentleman:

I would prefer my first post on this site be far more positive in nature - but it's not.

5 days ago I replied to an add posted on this site:

web page

I contacted the seller. The first question I asked was "do you have documentation." Yes, was his answer and immediately I received photos of the build sheet.

Based on the cars lineage, I agreed to his asking price and made arrangement for payment.

The car needed/needs restored so I spend hours with many sYc members via phone (thx Al, Benny, Jude)regarding this subject.

In preperation for this I:

*Entered an agreement of sale for my 69 SS Convetible Chevelle to a local buyer.

*I bought plane tickets for a resto Shop to look at the car.

*I paid a very reputable Restoration shop to review the car (thanks Mickey).

The car is solid. But judge for yourself it's advertised authenticty. This link is to Team Camaro.

Gents, pics of the build sheet are available for your review so that you can draw your own conclusion.

The point of my post is not slanderous. I'm sure the seller meant no harm. He claims the build sheet was just there in the car, and he's not sure where it came from. My point in placing this post is to provide info on this car so that a potential buyer does not have to endure any unwarranted trouble, and/or be mis-led in the buying process.

That's a Homemade buildsheet and not the authentic recipe for this Camaro. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif

Re: Warning Notice

Where do you stand now with this car Lee? Do you still have it or did Dennis refund you your money? I have dealt with Dennis in the past with no problems and he appeared to me to be a very stand-up guy.

Lee,

Sorry to see you're having some problems. No doubt that build sheet is bogus https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif Hope you get everything worked out to your satisfaction...sounds like a really neat car, even if it turns out to be a non-L78 BB car https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Re: Warning Notice

Thanks Bill....your interior work on my Chevelle is what sold it...the back buttons, etc. Still looks brand new. You do any of that magic work on your black vert?

I'm hoping things work out with Dennis regardless of my loss.

Re: Warning Notice

I do not have the car. Dennis did agree to allow me to back out after I confronted him on the authenticity of the car. Would still love to have the car...but a plain BB car (no options) Vert, that needs restored (pans, trunk deck), with no paper work (real paper work) that is in roller condition should not demand that kind of money IMO. I've asked to purchase at a reduced price but he has refused my offer(s).

Re: Warning Notice

I am glad things worked out for you. I agree that the car is not worth as much now that its validity is in question. I can understand Dennis' lack of price movement if he bought this car based on the fake build sheet. He may be the actual victim.

Re: Warning Notice

Sorry Hylton. Not the case. Previous holder of the car knew of no paper work. Dennis purchased the car 6 months ago for far less than what is selling. I'm not faulting him for wanting to make a buck - its a free market. I'm selling my 69 SS vert chevelle for more than I bought it...and the guy who I bought it from sold it to me for more than he bought it....Isn't that right Bill Pritchard? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

Re: Warning Notice

Wow I am shocked! You may not fault him Lee for trying to make a buck but I am. Fraudulent misrepresentation is just that.

Dennis, do you have anything to say on this matter? Surely you have an explanation. I think you should respond - your access to this site and others may be in jeopardy.
