Reproduction small block exhaust manifold

I remember a while back when someone was saying small block repop exhaust manifolds didnt fit. I just installed a repop driver side on a 69 Z28 it fit with no problems I didnt even use a exhaust manifold gasket and it didnt leak. It was bought at D&R one of this sites sponsors.

The early repops did have problems. Helping a friend, I couldn't get the damn things to stop leaking no matter what I did! Sounds like Steve at D&R has resolved the issue.

Thanks for the heads-up. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

What casting date does it have? I was told they were all the same, but maybe a different batch now and different date?

Yes the first batch might have had a problem but they fixed it. The date I believe was E 69 this way the E could be altered for a I or L

Will the manufacturer replace the early junk? I have some early ones, and the driver's side is absolute junk. The manifold hits the head bolts, the block, the engine mount.... etc.... I was looking for a single original one to replace it with, but if the latest offerings are better https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

[/ QUOTE ]John I installed them on my Z with no problems.. It was kinda nice not having to start all the bolts and trying to get the last one in because the manifold warped over time with heat.. Plus, GM didn't use "I" for marking parts for the months because it looked too much like a "1" (one).. Mark

What is the casting date on the new repops? Still E 6 9?

Thanks,

Lynn

GM did use the "I" for september exhaust manifolds. I know "I" wasn't used for some parts, but it was on the exhaust manifolds.

Delco-Remy was the manufacturer who mostly didn't use the letter "I" when date coding parts.
I too have seen Ex. Manifolds with the letter "I" cast in their dates.
