What method works best to get the dust off the inner fenders etc that gathers over the summer from shows and cruises from having the hood open?

Seriously, how about just gently spraying off with the trusty garden hose? Or else wiping down with a rag with some detailing spray on it (same stuff you use to wipe down the outside of the car) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

I did this before the Sycamore show. Now I haven't had that much dust on the car cause it is pretty fresh. Rob you should be ok with just a clean terry cloth. Your compartment is very nice shouldn't need more than that. Just disconnect your harnesses and hoses so you can really get in there. How about 6500 rpm in 4th gear? I've tried that but it did not work!

I've used water once, but we have very hard water out in Algonquin and left some bad water spots.

I know a guy that uses the canned compressed air spray you use to blow off your computer key boards and such.
He opens his hood,and blasts the entire engine compartment with it at shows.
I personally thinks he's a Loon,as a rag and detailer give you the same effect without so much drama & noise.

Rob,
Water is softer on the Good Side of the River. Seriously though I have never used Water to clean or refresh anything in the Engine Bay. Use a good soft cloth to dust it and your favorite detailer that does NOT create a gloss finish or leave anything behind so more dust can collect on it is best. I use a detailer and then wipe off all the excess and this works best for me.

I will be there and look forward to seeing you again. Look for me hanging around Cumby's car so we can say hi again. Cumby is a little under the weather so some of us may have to take care of him for awhile. Throw some baking soda into the water bucket and that will neutralize the hard water and eliminate the water spots.
