X22 Camaro Firewall Marking
After removing the front drivers side fender on my 69 SS L78 Camaro I noticed a "2" written on the firewall right near an "X" reinforcement stamp. It also has the letters "X2" written on the rear seat bulkhead. Is this another code that the workers used to identify a big block Camaro with style trim?

Re: X22 Camaro Firewall Marking
My RS/SS (350/350 car) had "19" written there. Whether there's any significance to either of the numbers, I'm not sure....

Re: X22 Camaro Firewall Marking
i work in a stamping plant, there are a lot of numbers used in the manufacturing that have little to do with the parts themselves. could just be a particular inspectors i.d. mark, or even a defect code that needed corrected.

Re: X22 Camaro Firewall Marking
Paul,
A friend of mine has a 20k mile 6A built Lemans Blue Copo and it also has the 2 written on the firewall, drivers side. I have no idea what it stands for. The X2 is for X22 trim, X4 would be for X44, X3 for x33, etc. Mark |
Re: X22 Camaro Firewall Marking
My Z11 Pace Car had "23" and "C60" on the firewall. The C60 is for air conditioning but the 23???
