May Hemmings Musclecar Mag.
Has anyone seen the latest edition of H.M.M. What do you all think of the '70 Nova featured in it? Do you think it is for real? I don't. Look at the dash. Why should this one be different from all the other COPO's . Also, this is the first time I have heard of a COPO Nova going up to Canada. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif

Re: May Hemmings Musclecar Mag.
LMAO! Just because you have not heard about it, must not be real 'eh'?
Not only is this car real, it's got the GM of Canada paperwork with both COPO #'s listed on it. Get some detail right here: https://www.yenko.net/features/2001/December2001.htm |
Re: May Hemmings Musclecar Mag.
I haven't seen the article yet, but I'm aware of the car that you're talking about and briefly met the owner at the Supercar reunion last year. I'm sure it's the real deal. Neat car and color too.
It's featured at the link below. https://www.yenko.net/features/2001/December2001.htm |

Re: May Hemmings Musclecar Mag.
Thanks,
OK fine. I wonder how his dash ended up with white script. My '70 SS has green on the dash, heater and radio. |
Re: May Hemmings Musclecar Mag.
It's not white, it's green. Many times the green tint is not distinguishable in photos, even on ebay photos, which is why most people will actually reference the 'green' tint.
We're just bustin your chops on this one https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif You aren't the first person to mistake this silver bullet for a wanna-be, and you won't be last. Since you took it so well, you can reply first to the next person who makes the accusation! Welcome, and tell us about your NovaSS. |

Also, this is the first time I have heard of a COPO Nova going up to Canada. [/ QUOTE ] I believe it is one of 2 non-Yenko COPO Novas built in 1970, both of which went North across the border...which is good, because the original factory paperwork is still available, and attainable, on the Canadian cars. Unlike the rash of clone cars in some recent mags, this car is the real deal... |
Re: May Hemmings Musclecar Mag.
Well, obviously a VERY rare one indeed.
I am the second owner of my Nova SS. Bought it off the original owner back in '89 who coincidently ordered it from Central Chevy in Canada also. It's pretty much original. 350 - 300HP 4-Speed, w/4:10 12 bolt. The 1st owner Drag raced it for a while up in Canada when new and then proceeded to travel all across the Western US in it. He was a Tool and Die maker for Borg-Warner. That's how I came upon it. I worked with Him at one of Borg's divisions. Earlier this year I decided to do a full restoration on it so having a good source of information and feedback during this process is important to me. I want the car to be correct so I will be bouncing my thoughts off you guy's from time to time. Thanks in advance. |
Re: May Hemmings Musclecar Mag.
It was a great article and detailed pictures, also it was nice to have everything explained about the COPO NOVA'S. The best thing is that Pete ENJOYS it and Races it.
