N66 5 spoke rims.... nice set!
1 Attachment(s)
Guys here is a nice set of N66 5 spoke rims...
3 are dated 12/15 and are AO code 1 is dated 5/26 and is a YA code all rims are 1969 production. Condition...AO's are mint!! with the exception of the scratched paint The YA is very close also.. the YA had a flat??? at one time and the inside lip "only" has a few very slight dings on the edge..I took it to the tire store and it spun fine.... all rims are orginal paint normal scratches etc...two very nice orignal SS center caps, and two orig 4 clip trim rings..one very slightly scratched on the lip the other has a crease by the valve stem..I am pretty sure the one with a crease can be saved by a expert.....these are not rusted out dogs!! was told by the seller he pulled them from his '71 Chevelle in '74 and have been off the road since. still sporting decent bias ply tires.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif you guys get first chance at them...but hurry!! first $325.00 takes them home. more detailed pics for the buyer. Thnx SYC for the add, Bud. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/119866-N661resized.jpg |

How deep are those two center caps?
1/8 or 1/4? Clip on or bolt on? |
Re: N66 5 spoke rims.... nice set!
What is the difference in the depth please? Cause I'd like to go out and measure mine to. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif

Linda Lovelace says not Deep Enough at 1/4.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif |
Re: N66 5 spoke rims.... nice set!
DarrenX33, the original center caps have a depth of approximately a 1/4" where the emblem is at. Sometime in the early 80's the tooling was starting to wear out and the depth was changed to just under 1/8". This is the one you will find NOS from GM and all parts vendors that still carry the GM part. The new reproduction made by Goodmark has the correct depth and is identical to the original GM part. For some reason the depth on the Oldsmobile Super Stock I rim center cap never changed by GM. The only visual difference between the Chevrolet cap and it is the 3/16" styling ridge around the bottom of the cap where it mates to the wheel................RatPack.....................
