70 Chevelle Shifter (Muncie/Bench Seat)
 

Got another project car that's missing a shifter. 70 Chevelle SS396, bench, 4-speed. Aftermarket Hurst is fine--I don't need a factory Muncie--but I will consider both. Thanks!

I think I have a bench seat handle for one!Actually I think I have 2 handles

Don't know if you received the PM I sent .The picture you showed me is just like what I have except the one I have does not have the rods or levers and comes with an extra handle.

I just restored my muncie shifter and found out that the 70
shifter has a gm part number on the bottom of the handle
3973864 and the rods are #s 1437 #9192 and 1438 GM aparently made many shifters over the years and the 70 chevelle has these numbers these numbers might also be used on other models ?

The one handle I have has 3973865,and it does not have muncie on it.The other handle and the shifter body are together,there is no number that I have found but that handle has muncie on it.The shifter body does not have a name or number that I see either,both handles look alike except for the muncie script on one and the number on the other.

I have a bench shifter and shifter body ,also comes with a extra bench seat handle,one handle says muncie the other does not.This is a shifter body only,no levers,no linkage,just the body and handle and a extra handle.Good for driver but if for show will need rechromed

Anyway..I don't know how all that cut and paste and copy crap works...But there is a shifter on Team Chevelle.
