'69 RS Z28 @ MLM (Seattle)

This is just a heads-up for any Z lovers out there. Here's a link:

http://www.memorylanemotors.net/carpics.php?car=69z

The car is an exceptionally honest, unmolested car that has spent its life in CA and WA, with 4 owners. It's an LA built car, 12B build date, with a mostly complete build sheet (verifies VIN, BV rear, and cowl induction air cleaner, among other things) and original POP. Original engine, transmission, and 4.10 posi rearend. Power steering, factory AM/FM, console/tach/gauges, original shifter, and complete smog.

Very interesting car in that someone wanted the RS option and ZL2 hood, but passed on the D80 spoilers. Car is dead honest with great paperwork and known history. Price is $44,900, and you can reach Memory Lane Motors at 206-575-1258.

On a similar note, if you're a Hemi fan, the '69 Hemi 4sp Road Runner listed below the Z is a great unmolested car with all original drivetrain and a 3 owner history all in WA. The price on it is $89,900.

(For the record, I'm pretty much a full time stay at home Dad these days, and I won't benefit financially from this listing or the sale of these cars. I just like these cars and this dealer, and thought some of the members here have similar taste.)

That Burnish Brown looks pretty nice with the white stipes.

12B LA built car with cowl induction, must be the first one ever made. It was made about 2 weeks before the first ZL1's which are supposed to be among the first examples of the cowl induction. I'd like to see the build sheet (not that I could afford it though)

I agree...you can always see a red or blue car, but the greens, browns, and heaven forbid GOLDs are pretty sweet!

I was thinking the same thing... never saw a ZL2 car that early. Doesn't look to be any 302 badges on the hood, although the stuff on the firewall looks right. Has anyone seen the car or buildsheet? If its a legit ZL2 car its the earliest one i have ever seen or heard about.

Looks like my mistake. The first digit of the build date was mostly punched by the rivet, so I guessed it was a "12". Looks like its actually "02". The VIN is L52289x, and the POP shows the car being delivered in March of '69 in California. The cowl hood "documentation" as such is the air cleaner code of "DG" on line 180 of the chassis broadcast sheet. My second Z was an RS flat hood car (built 02C, L52463x) that had an air cleaner code of "07" in box 180.

Sorry for the confusion, I knew that 12B was early for a ZL2 car, I just didn't verify that it was 'too early" before I posted. I should have learned from CBS news that you have to check your facts BEFORE going to press....... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif

Re: SOLD '69 RS Z28 @ MLM

Well...... Within 12 hours of hitting the website, Memory Lane got a full price offer, with two backup offers. Two of these three offers were from other DEALERS. Car is bought and paid for and in Oregon already.

It looks like $35-50K is truly the "market" on good to great '69 Z's these days. (Wow, now I REALLY wish I still had mine....) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif

Re: SOLD '69 RS Z28 @ MLM

MLM's Hemi Road Runner sold today and will be going to Arizona. Arizona residents and visitors should look for it at the McDonald's cruise in at the Pavillion. The new owner sounds like a very cool guy who likes correct, documented cars and already has a similarly honest Hemi Challenger.

This so-called "bubble" in the market I've spoken of is showing no signs of popping anytime soon....
