Re: '70 Chevelle SS Wheels
YA code was used on early built 70 SS Chevelles too.Plants differed, but usually the Chevelle YA/AO change over was Oct./Nov. 1969.
Other Chevrolet SS models used these too.1969 SS Camaro-Chevelle-Elco-Nova & 1970 Deuce. Among other things, look for either of these two suffix codes to insure they are for your application.Bring a REAL stainless capped lug nut to insure the holes are not enlarged. |

Thanks Mr70. What's a nice set sell for these days?

Re: '70 Chevelle SS Wheels
One more newbie question on the wheels...the buildsheet shows AO in the wheels box...so I assume this is the correct code for a Jan 14th car?
Thanks again, |
Re: '70 Chevelle SS Wheels
Yes,that is typical.
Prices today average $50.00 a bare rim needing bead blasting and repaint. Some have paid much more if they are the correct date codes for a specific car.I recently paid alot for all 4 dated the same day of 1969.Some couldn't care less. |

Just happened to come accross a pair of YA's while helping my cousin clean out some rooms in house next to his bodyshop.(well at least one, second one still has tire and trim ring mounted, and I didn't bother to check it)
Mr 70 would you mind explaining how the markings break-down/decode? thanks |
