Cast Iron (Round in Shape) METERING Valve Leaking at Plunger "Button" (under rubber cover) ....Tried SEARCHING here and Camaros.net, but couldnt find specific info on who or where could provide NEW/CORRECT seal .........

Re: 69 Disc/Drum METERING Valve Leaking

The rear brake valve has a piston, spring, washers, seals and is easily disassembled, cleaned and reassembled. The problem usually lies in the valve being clogged and is a easy fix. if you would like I have drawn an exploded view of this valve and could post that if it would help.

Re: 69 Disc/Drum METERING Valve Leaking

R-us, I had the following vendor rebuild mine in 1999.
Power Brake Exchange, INC
260 Phelan Ave.
San Jose, Calif 95112
Attn: Martin
1-800-322-1775
I took the nut off and had it freshly zinc plated prior to rebuild. It came back with a new BOOT, but it was shaped differently, so I replaced the orig boot.
Cost $35. I was going to do it myself, the rebuild but had difficulty finding the soft goods.

Re: 69 Disc/Drum METERING Valve Leaking

I checked with the above Power Brake Supply...On 10/11/04 I was told they now charge $65.00 to rebuild the 69 Metering Valve. They will NOT sell any parts. I also checked with WHITE POST who charges TWICE that. Called Master Power Brakes in N.C and they only sell aftermarket misc valves and NO parts to restore originals....
I'm just frustrated and dissapointed that I cant find a vendor to sell me the rubber "CUP" piece and plunger/shaft "O-ring" seal.
Thanks anyway, Chuck Sharin [email protected]

For $65, or $125, just get the thing rebuilt - then you're done with it!
