67 Z28 intake with '65 casting date

I have a '67 Z intake with a casting date of 12-65. It is identical to the Z intake with 2 exceptions: No firing order and it has an 0- engineering casting number signifying that it was a prototype Z28 part. This intake has never been restored or blasted and is in beautiful condition. Price is $1500. Frank Payne 402 393 5252

Hello. Is this like the one you had/have? I'm searching for as much info as I can on this intake, with very little success. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...er0u_60_57.jpg
I appreciate any help you might offer. Ken

If you ever come up with a Z28 tripower prototype with an O dash number and a Winters casting mark, I'd likely be interested.

The 0- was experimental stuff.

No question it's experimental...no doubt it's not Z-28.

Re: 67 Z28 intake with '65 casting date

I have found info suggesting the very first Z prototypes had 283 short blocks, before the decision was made to combine the 4" bore 327 block with the 3" steel crank. I bought this immediately upon viewing it on ebay, because i remembered seeing it somewhere before in a magazine picture back in the late 70's to early 80's. It was in a press type GM picture, where all the 302 Z28 engine components were laid out nicely on a table, or other flat surface. It was a black & white photo. I figure they used the L79 design, but "smoothed" the runner turns, and raised it up some more. I have yet to remove the bottom pan to see the date, but I expect it to be within the Z28 early development period. I need some solid proof. But, info about the Z28 program points to this being designed for that option package by winters.
