I just picked up a local sale paper from Columbia South Carolina and saw a couple car that someone here may be interested in. They are not my cars and I don't know anything about them.

Re: Interesting Cars For Sale Not Mine
I know a guy who answered a "1970 Chevelle for sale" ad and found a one owner LS5 4-speed with 46K miles on it needing only a valve job with very nice original paint for $6,500! It came with paperwork and a picture of the car sitting on the showroom floor. Amazing survivor car.

[/ QUOTE ] I have been told (a possible rumor only) that, at least in California, if someone's selling a car/motorcycle that's a collector item and is worth a lot more money than they are asking, you have to tell them or they have a right to sue you later if you sell it for a huge profit. That sounded ridiculous to me, but so are a lot of laws. I'm sure it's just a rumor, but does anyone know about this? This story above just reminded me of it. I'd sure hate to find a Yenko or something some day for a couple of grand and be sued because of some "unfair purchase" laws. |
Re: Interesting Cars For Sale Not Mine
"Your honor, I swear as far as I knew it was a 6 cyl auto car that someone put a 427 in. I have the 1969 dealer catalog right here and there is no mention of a 427 in a Camaro at all."

Re: Interesting Cars For Sale Not Mine
It's not what you know that I know...
It's what you can prove that I know. "Sir did you know that this was a rare and highly desireable car?" Who's definition of desireable are we using here? I can probalbly find most anyone on the street who would say we are idiots for paying as much as we do for "Old Cars" They would much rather have a new Benz or another Rolex. |
