I was interested in them for a while, but I was helping someone finish an engine swap after work and got home too late. It wouldn't have mattered. That price is incredible! I know those headers are really hard to find, especially in that condition.

Larry Christensen from Camaros Plus made up a set from originals owned by Rick from Rick's First Generation. If I overheard correctly, I think he's selling reproductions of them now. Not sure what the price is, just ask him not to paint them blue like he did on his car at Carlisle!

That's alot of money, but I don't find the price shocking. I always wanted a cowl plenum, factory header Z. I found the cowl plenum set up but could never find the headers. I understand that someone reproduced the open flange style headers some years ago, but am not sure. In any event the price of the cowl unit went up so much, I finally decided to sell it, as I decided even if I found the headers I would never cut a hole in the firewall.

Amen......

I sold a original 68 cowl set-up a while back for the same reason. It even had the dimple in the air cleaner base to clear the smog pump. Although it looks cool, I just couldn't bring myself to cutting a hole in the firewall. Some things need to be left "as is" on survivor cars.
